So finally, after 7 years of marriage, my wife's wish came true. We have showtime in the bedroom. Thanks to mark and Dynavision, I installed this wifi extender which allows you to watch Showtime or any other bouquet in multiple rooms. It took 5 minutes to install and configure. No cables at all and its also light and easy to hide. Its not so cheap at 25KD but compared to installing another reciever, its surely worth it.

More and more time at home, sickness extreme. More old shots. This one is from a plane, I took flight lessons back in Dubai but never finished. This one was taken by the camera not me, as it was shooting while I was worried about this small flying box I trusted for my safety.

I posted a shot from the last day I spent in Dubai. It was on Jemeira Beach and it was good wind for kite surfing. it started with one but by noon , there were 17 kites in the air. I took this one because of the colors. Red Green Blue

I took this shot at the airport, could not resist the colors and the reflections. The cones are meant to block passangers from passing the trollies down the escalators. It also blocked an old couple, the old lady was pushing her husband on a wheel chair, she tried to pass through them for 10 minutes then gave up and called security.

I am officialy 30. My wife made her best to made me feel like its my birthday. She took me out after 6:00 to Marina Mall and we did those pottery stuff, I made her a vase and she did me a pen holder cup. We got home and there they were, most of my crazy and not so crazy friends. It was great, she made sure I have the disco lights and the fog machine as well as an assorment of balloons. Cake, sandwitches and the rest of the woooha. All of my friends got me gifts and it was something memorable as some of them got straight from the airport to me house. Some of them stayed for more than 1 hour and it was a miracle in mark's case. I got an Atari :) the last time i got one was 1984. I got a ferrari swiss knife, I got so many other stuff. For those who read the blog and came, Thank you Guys and Girls. For those who didn't know, well next time give your phone numbers to my wife as it was a surprise party. For those who couldn't make it, you got saved from the gift.

Last Day of MGB ends with a party for EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa). We had a quiz show with questions relative to your business. It was a nice shout for 2 hours as we tried to guide our players on stage. In the end MEA our region won, it was just a trophy but its good as we beat the UK, France, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Germany and Northern Europe. The photo is of the stage during the quiz show.
After the show we went to "Six Flags" over atlanta, the Rollecoasters. The place was booked by Microsoft and all rides and games were free. I did the 2 scariest but the heat was unbearable and had to run back to the hotel and enjoy and nice shower followed by a nice meal in bed.

Performerances from North Africa, South Africa, Egypt, Turkey, EastMEd and North Gulf along with others. Winners were Egpyt in the end. This shot is of the club were we met. Our team sang "We're walking on Sunshine" which was so relevant to the heat in Kuwait.

Downtown Atlanta has a nice skyline, the towers here are nicely distributed around town and unlike NYC, they are tall in some areas and short in others with lot of trees on the street. The weather is lousy and reminds me of Dubai. Humidity with hot temperature and on top of that it rains. What a town. Photo is taken from the peachtree center food court.

My favourite transportation mean ever; The Subway. I just love it, whenever I go to a city that has a subway, I just take it and start roaming around, checking the stops and trying the end points on of the system. It's the most ammazing thing ever. I hope Beirut gets one, it would save a lot of traffic and would get some of the 1950 mercedes benz of the road. This shot is for Atlanta's Marta system. Peachtree Center N1 station.

Worst Airline competition: And the winner is KLM. They compete with Olympus of Greece, and Air Syria(the Airline not the president). It was the lousiest flight in ages, Kuwait-Amsterdam: tiny seats, fully packed 1/10th of a meal. Amsterdam-Atlanta: same bad experience with a bonus, a landing like the pilot wanted to test if he can break the landing gear. Same experience in Altanta Airport, to just exit the airport, you need 90 minutes and to top that, the airport closed after we landed because of a thunderstorm and they diverted all incoming flights to other airports. What a day!! sorry 27 hours make more than a day.

Those shadows remind me of the movie The Lord on the Rings, The Two Towers. Although they are just shadows, they are casted over the cemeteries next to my office. Thea are weirdest at sunset time, as the sun gets lower, they get longer and cast the shadow all the way to Kuwait TVs building.

I watched the movie tonight. I've had it for a month now and never thought of watching it before tonight. A lot of flying daggers, a lot of twists and a lot for great fighting scenes. In the end it was an unexpected ending. As a movie and the story and the scenery was great, music was also nice. Its a must watch if you like movies similar to "croutching tiger hidden dragon". The photo is from the opening scenes. It might be the title of the movie or simply a chinese parental advisory, I'll never know for now.

I took this shot last year before the elections in NY. Puff Daddy was at a show in MTV and he was exciting the audience by running towards the glass and doing gestures and dancing. The people were crazy about him and were stepping over each other to see his act. I still don't get it, why would someone wait for 5 or more hours to watch someone jump at a window?
I hope there are no celebs this year when I visit NY. Last year I even saw people sleeping on the sidewalk 24 hours before the time Ashley Simpson would visit Virgin Megastores and sign her new album. Who is Ashley Simpson now? so imagine one year ago.

Today, and contrary to my work ethics, I stayed late at work and had a presentation at one of the ministries and to the minister in person. I'll spare you from the details, but when i left at 10:00 PM, I saw those trees in the parking, they reminded me of the Blair witch movie, it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. But it didn't stop me from my passion of walking in the woods at night. I guess those 20 trees is the max I will get in Kuwait, at least for now.

In Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley is famous for agriculture. Some of it is legal and some of it is our famous hash and other derivatives. After Syria pulled out, the police destroyed almost all of the remaining crops. But it seems you don't need to plant them anymore, they grow by their own.

Watching several sci fi movies in the past years, I remember those long powerful dust storms they used to create, where the hero gets lost while looking for his way back to the base. We used to think that life on Mars would be so tough and ask: why are they doing those colonies over there. Now I realize how similar that is to Kuwait city and the local duststorms.
Hot weather, fast winds, bad visibility and gloomy skies. Why do people live here?

Define Sunday: A day where you wake up late, have a nice breakfast, have a nice lunch, watch Formula1, then a football match or a basketball game and watch Lebanon beat Jordan(the country, not Michael Jordan)then go out and have a combination of sheesha, beer, ice cream and a nice lebanese burger. That was how I lived till 1997. Then came Sunday in the GCC: Second day of the week. The rest of the universe is doing the lazy things and we are working. We have to run away from work to watch Formula1 and make silyy excuses and will surely miss seeing Lebanon beat Jordan as we can't take 2 breaks per day.
Part of the lazy outing at night is downtown beirut and the photo is of the Virgin Megastores building, yeah, forgot to tell you, it's a building in beirut, not a shop like Marina Mall, They sell R-rated movies, Region 1, they don't dress women on magazines with pens, and they surely have a lot more music and electonics. But keeping with the traditions of their virginity, the prices are high!!

Really great place, vines are stretched in symmetrical rows on the left and right side of the road. Great sight and they have the best wine in Lebanon. The background is the Barouk mountains which are crowned by the second Cedars forest of Lebanon. It was a great day to live 12 hours between 1100 and 1670m above sea level and between 20 and 2005 AD.
